Three Generations of Huffmans rode Mac after an early morning workout.

Wyatt Huffman shows Dad & Grandpa how it is supposed to be done.

The 100th. running of the National Championship will long

be remembered, not for the super high bird scores, but for
the overall quality of the dogs that came to compete. Thirty
two of the nation's best pointers came to Grand Junction to
compete for the most coveted title in the bird dog world.
The winner emerged in Whippoorwill Wild Card. Mac is
owned Dr. Terry Terlep. He was raised, trained and handled
by Larry Huffman and scouted by Dr. Jack Huffman. Running
in the first brace, Mac established a early standard with four
finds, a back and an outstanding race. While a number of
other dogs went the entire three hours, none were able to
match the polished performance of Whippoorwill Wild Card.
