Earl Crangle's book
according to some of the experts is the best book going. Earl communicates clearly and
that is very important for the beginner. A must read for the serious dog trainer.
by John Ross. This book
profiles more than 200 bird hunting lodges. From ruffed grouse in Maine to chuckers in
Oregon, from southern quail plantations to sharptails on the praires. Everthing is
detailed in the book including bird species, guide services, accommodations for hunters
and dogs, costs, seasons, acreage, prime dates and more. 278 pages, 100 maps and photos.
I highly recommend this
book for beginner or Pro, Bill Tarrant has a way with words and Delmar has a very special
way with dogs! Many refer to it as the "Bible" for bird dogs!
Mr.
McKowen picked up where C.D.Maxwell left off. This is the breed bible. Mr. McKowen's
extensive experience and knowledge of the breed affords novice owners and people
researching the breed with a wealth of valuable information.
This well-written
book is an entertaining salute to the closeness between man and his dog, man and gun, and
man and the great outdoors.

This is a remarkably fine book on the
philosophical under-pinnings of all dog training, with emphasis on bird dogs. Humorous,
well-written, interesting. Not a "how-to-do-it" book.
A great Horse/health book that at least
prepares you to ask the proper questions and possibly treat your horse yourself.
Ruth B. James has written a great do-it-yourself "sometimes" manual. I use my
copy like a dictionary for horse health.
By the same author Ruth B. James. She
has taken her vet skills and experience and answered many of the common health issues. A
very good chapter on whelping and getting everyone prepared for the puppies. Once again I
use my book like a reference book for dog health.
Ben O. Williams has
become legendary for his hard charging bold, and obedient hunting dogs. Instinctive
Training Method revealed in his book is fun for both owner and dog.
Hunting The Quails of North America: by
Ben O. Williams This book is not only about birds, bird dogs and bird guns. It's
also about origin, cycle, behavior, habitat and more. Six species of quail are covered,
each discussed great detail.
